“All that glitters is not Gold”. Yes it could be a solitaire or a diamond as our Rotarian Snehal Pachchigar explained to us at his showroom on this fine Sunday morning.
Even though it was a regular working day for Pachchigar & Sons jewelers, Rtn Snehal and Ann Purvi had gone out of the way to make all arrangements for the meeting. Seating arrangements were made on the first floor of the showroom. Breakfast and tea was served for everyone present. Anns were present in large numbers since this was a subject of their interest and liking.
After the welcome and the birthday and anniversary greetings by President Bankim, it was time for Rtn Snehal to take stage. In his own lucid style, he explained the criteria of grading diamonds and the 3 ‘C’s (Carat, Clarity and Color). He also informed the audience about the things to be kept in mind while buying diamonds and jewelry so that we can get the proper value for our money.
He also imparted information on the various institutes and accreditation agencies like IDI, IGI and RAPAPORT which give authenticity reports and certificates for the items we purchase. The important thing here he said is to tally the number on the certificate with the number on the item purchased to ensure that the certificate is for the same item. The certification can be obtained even after you have purchased the item. Now that’s what you call ‘CRYSTAL CLEAR’ just like those diamonds are.
The presentation was followed by a question-answer session in which Rotarians and Anns actively participated. I am sure now many of us will feel more confident and safe about investing in Solitaires and Diamonds and we also know the reliable source from where to buy them.
The much awaited lucky draw was then held with 2 chits being drawn from a box full of chits with the names of all those present. The winners of the two 1 gm Gold lagdis were Anns Rakhi Gandhi and Pooja Gajjar. Congratulations to you both.
Three ‘PIT YOUR WITS’ prizes were given to IPP Rtn Tarun Sethi and one to Ann Paulomi Akruwala since we could not give the gifts in previous meetings. Rtn Madhav Khaitan gave the vote of thanks to wonderful hosts Snehal and Purvi Pachchigar.
